March 3 Updates

Announcements

  • The Selectboard Meeting is tonight at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center, 45 Dayton Street. Bring family, friends, kids… anyone who wants to show support for our schools and our town. We’re planning to arrive at 6:45 and hope to see you there! (Unfortunately, the handheld signs the MTA prepared for us are lost in the mail. We will have flyers and an info cards, but if you’re able to bring your own sign, please do!
  • Please consider sharing your support for the Prop 2 1/2 Override during the meeting. We need many residents to speak during the public comment period – students, adults, seniors, friends of the library, police/public safety advocates, etc. If you’re willing, please encourage Selectboard to offer a single amount ballot question in your comments.
  • Whether or not you’re able to attend tonight’s meeting, if you haven’t yet sent a note to the Selectboard, there’s still time to email your feedback.
  • Reminder about where we are in the process: Tonight the Selectboard will decide whether to put an override question on the ballot, and whether it is a tiered question or single amount (final question wording to be decided by March 10). The Town Election is April 14.

Understanding the Budget Crisis

The communications team has pulled together some great information to help our neighbors understand the budget crisis and why the override is needed. Access the full flyer using the button below.

Understanding the Impact on Libraries

The Libraries have provided a flyer showing the impact of losing state aid certification if the Gaylord has to close. Access the full flyer using the button below.
